European Stocks Rise After Selloff as Dip-Buyers Return to Risk

European equities gained on Monday following the worst week since March for the benchmark index as some investors used the recent selloff and more appealing valuations as a buying opportunity.

The Stoxx 600 was up 0.7% as of 1:10 p.m. in London, with banks and energy outperforming, while construction shares slumped as Kingspan Group Plc plunged on a downbeat trading statement. The UK FTSE 100 outperformed, helped by its high proportion of commodities stocks. US stocks are closed today for a holiday, which will reduce overall trading volumes.
