B.C.’s Carbon Engineering is scaling up its efforts to help solve the climate crisis–and quiet the naysayers

SQUAMISH, B.C. — Daniel Friedmann recalls a meeting soon after he became chair of the board of B.C.’s Carbon Engineering in 2018 during which he presented a business plan to build 50 of the company’s plants, which suck carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, to the company’s major investor, Bill Gates.
